The C-NPT is maintained on a three-year cycle, and because it’s a subspecialty certificate,
the upkeep is light. Here’s what NCC requires.
How long is the C-NPT valid?
Three years. NCC maintains all of its certifications on a three-year cycle.
What does maintenance involve?
As a subspecialty certificate, the C-NPT does not require the Continuing
Competency Assessment that core RNC/NP credentials use. Instead you complete
15 hours of continuing education in the subspecialty area (neonatal/pediatric
transport) within the three-year period.
The easiest way to stay current
CE you complete through NCC modules is posted automatically to your maintenance record, so
much of the 15 hours can be earned without chasing paperwork. Keep certificates for anything
earned elsewhere in case of audit.
